Lowcountry Juneteenth Week & Festival
Celebrating Black Excellence

The first Lowcountry Juneteenth Week took place from June 14-20, 2021. The festival featured a week full of events in collaboration with our community partners. Our goal is to make this annual event one that will bring people together and highlight the Black Excellence rooted in the Lowcountry.

“Juneteenth” also referred to as Freedom Day or Liberation Day is the longest running African American Holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States. Through Lowcountry Juneteenth Week and Festival, we aim to magnify an often overlooked moment in African American history. Join us June 13th – June 19th as we empower, celebrate and educate thru Gullah History, arts and culture.

Juneteenth Week will highlight black owned business with curated events throughout the city. The week will conclude with an exciting festival on Sunday, June 19th in beautiful North Charleston. The event will feature food trucks, vendors, performances, live concert, and more.
